Portions of the Williamsport Municipal Water Authority (WMWA) watershed will be open for deer and bear hunting on select days this fall.

The WMWA watershed will be opened for fifteen days of deer hunting on November 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, December 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10, 2022 and eight days of bear hunting on November 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, December 1, 2, and 3, 2022. Hunters must obtain and be in possession of a valid 2022 WMWA hunting permit and a valid 2022 Pa Hunting License in order to hunt on the WMWA property. No other hunting is allowed on WMWA property at any time. There is no charge for the permits which can be downloaded from our website at wmwa-wsa.org or picked up at our business office at 253 West Fourth Street, Williamsport beginning September 20, 2022. Maps of the hunting areas, DMAP Coupon applications, and frequently asked questions about hunting in the WMWA watershed are also available online or at our office. Those wishing to take an antlerless deer must also have a PA Game Commission Wildlife Management Unit 4D antlerless license or a DMAP harvest permit for the WMWA property (Unit 2078) of which a limited number are available. A second DMAP coupon may be applied for after November 1st if any are still available.


The watershed is open daily to the public from sunrise to sunset by signing in at the Water Filtration Plant Visitor Parking Lot at the end of Mosquito Valley Road or registering online here and observing the posted Visitor Use Rules. The watershed will be closed to the public on the permitted hunting days: November 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, December 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10, 2022. Only hunters with a valid 2022 WMWA hunting permits and a valid 2022 Pa Hunting License will be allowed in the watershed on those dates.
